Just Another Fiji Mermaidby ~Tonicacat

Traditional Art / Paintings / Macabre & Horror

So I worked on this off and on for a few weeks thinking it was a really clever idea and all... then one night it hit me, "I've seen this before." And then I realized Rob zombie made a human Fiji Mermaid in House of a Thousand Corpses. Ah well, I never thought my ideas were ever all that creative.

But of course it turned out much different then that one. I really need to learn how to photograph paintings though, there is some aweful glare on the right side.

oil on canvas, 30"x24" or somewheres about there.

Your picture is very strange and exotic, I like it! I find the colours you used are feating very well together, I especially like how you did her tail. I find she looks like a kind of diva, lying like that. The little monkeys are also very funny! I love them!
